We warmly invite staff and students at SDSN AusNZPac member institutions to join us for a conversation with Prof Jeffrey Sachs on what we can learn from the COVID crisis that will help us accelerate progress on the SDGs as we go forward.
In the past year, the COVID-19 crisis has significantly disrupted everyday life around the world and set back global and regional progress on the SDGs. While the crisis has had overwhelmingly negative impacts, it has also provided us with opportunities to gain new insights about how the world works that could improve our response to other crises and to accelerate action on the SDGs.
What have we learned from COVID so far, and how can we put these lessons into practice? How have universities and knowledge institutions in our region been contributing to this understanding, and what more can we do?
Please join us at the SDSN AusNZPac 2020 Member Forum for an interactive discussion of these important questions with Prof Jeffrey D Sachs, President of SDSN. Jeffrey is a world-renowned economics professor, bestselling author, innovative educator, and global leader in sustainable development. He is Director of the Center for Sustainable Development at Columbia University, an SDG Advocate for UN Secretary- General Antonio Guterres, and chairs the recently formed Lancet COVID-19 Commission.
The forum is open to any staff and students at SDSN AusNZPac member institutions (http://ap-unsdsn.org/becoming-a-member/members/). Please register with your institutional email address.
